Supervision

- Present, discuss, understand and respond to or manage issues related to their particular professional practice contexts
- Develop capabilities for supporting their professional role and practice
- Gain new insights, different perspectives and develop knowledge and skills that are relevant to their professional roles and responsibilities.

Theoretical Perspectives and Modalities
At Transformative Psychology supervision is informed by a range of theoretical perspectives, modalities and approaches, and by the training, capabilities and professional experience of the supervisor.
Supervisees’ expectations, supervision needs, goals and preferred outcomes inform the supervision approach offered and how the process unfolds. Other supervision considerations include the knowledge and experience of the supervisee(s), their professional practice context(s) and client groups, and the parameters of the supervision relationship and agreements.
Charles Thermos’ approach to supervision draws on the following theoretical perspectives, modalities and approaches, in collaboration with the supervisee’s preferred orientations:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBI)
- Positive Psychology
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Systemic and Family Therapy
Charles has extensive experience in supervising psychologists and other health professionals. He is an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA).
